Divya, a former Google employee and a graduate of Northwestern University, is a social entrepreneur who seamlessly combines design, technology, and social impact. She has been honored with multiple UN Women Leadership Awards, highlighting her exceptional contributions in the fields of Climate Action, Coastal Livelihoods, and Circular Economy.
In 2022, Divya’s climate project gained global recognition as one of UNESCO’s Top 100 Green Citizens Projects worldwide. Furthermore, she received the prestigious .org Impact award in 2022 for her outstanding environmental stewardship.
With her latest venture, Baeru (which means “roots” in the Kannada language), Divya envisions bolstering the resilience of coastal India in the face of climate change. To achieve this, she adopts a three-pronged approach, consisting of government partnerships, infrastructure development, and the creation of sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities, particularly focusing on empowering women.
